*Alone*

Graphite pencil drawing; 42 x 32 cms.

This pose is also sometimes known as the “Flandrin” pose after the famous painting *Nude Young Man Sitting at the Sea Shore* (1836) by J-H Flandrin.  The pose was also much used by William Blake but usually viewed from in front to denote emotions such as despair and hopelessness.

Image Making

Dennis Candy Images contains pictures I have created using traditional artistic techniques as well as a few using digital and analogue techniques.  I consider myself a follower of the visual artistic tradition of the Sri Lankan polymath creator Lionel Wendt (1900-1944).

There are no theories, texts or philosophy behind my art.  However it is said that very picture tells a story and a picture is worth a thousand words so please make up your own if you wish..

Paintings are just that.

Drawings are just that.

Digital Collages are where two or more images have been blended together.
